Step-by-Step: Surface Prep for a Successful Wrap
Even the best vinyl will fail if the surface isn't properly prepared. Here's the professional process:
- Wash thoroughly: Remove all dirt, grease, and wax with a degreaser. Pay attention to panel gaps and door jambs.
- Clay bar treatment: Remove embedded contamination from the paint surface. The vinyl needs to bond to clean paint, not embedded particles.
- IPA wipe-down: Final pass with isopropyl alcohol (70%) to remove any remaining residue. Allow to fully evaporate.
